This is my entry for Becky’s for July #TreeSquare challenge.

One tree is often left in an logging area. It’s used as a skyline to anchor the carriage. It is usually a tree that they used as a pulley to get the logs up the mountain.
Here are some pulleys that were used in logging notice that they are resting on a huge old stump.
Here is are a couple of photos from a lumber yard in Toledo, Oregon.
For every forest that is lumbered, new trees are replanted. Here is an example of one lumber company having fun with their replanting of trees. Again, you can see the larger trees they left standing.

Similar tastes. I wonder why that is. What is so appealing about rusty equipment and dirty logging trucks? But it is cool.

The logging company just did it for fun. It’s near a big Casino in the mountains on the way to the beach (Grand Ronde), so it is seen by everyone.

I was worried for a minute there when I saw the B&W photo of a hillside full of cut down trees! But I scrolled down and was relieved to know that they replant the hillsides with new trees! 🙂
