Dahlias have such a nice complex look. That plus their brilliant colour makes a great photo.

Stunning photo. It could be an oil painting with those delicate strokes of red.

These are still some old dahlias. They are coming up here, I need about another week or so before the fields are ready.

I spent hours yesterday processing these — then forgot to actually post them 🙂 No Dahlias, but pretty and the hummingbirds like them.

Thats a belter, a really full flower, puffing its chest out somewhat.

I love this Dahlia. Gotta plant some. Your photo has all the color mine lacks this goaround.

Actually, I was looking up dahlias the other day and they are native to Mexico. 😀 😀

I’ve planted them but they were annuals and I’m spoiled as everything I plant blooms year round. The zinnias I planted at the same time did reseed themselves, however.

There are some “not so pretty” dahlias that are annuals and grow from a seed. The bigger ones, and prettier in my mind, are actually tubers. They will come up each year,

Not sure which mine were but they didn’t come up again. I’ll try again.

I love dahlias, but for some reason they always die on me.
