This post is in response to Weekly Prompt’s blog with the topic of Close Up.
I was talking about maple trees and leaves with Margaret and Sue this weekend. I thought I would show a few leaves. The last photo, a slider, is the sugar maple tree that came down in our ice storm last year. It was such a gorgeous tree.

In all there are about 125 different types of maple trees in the world. Some, like the sugar maple, are dominant forest trees, while others such as the Japanese maple grow more shrub-like. I am showing the dominant forest types of maple leaves.

The photo on the left shows the road next to my side yard (I have a corner lot). Most of these trees had to be cut down due the ice storm. The photo of the right is as close up as I have of these beauties in autumn.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen trees in a row that are quite as colourful as these. I’m so glad you linked them to our challenge, thank you 🙂
