That is a yummy little purple beauty. I haven’t seen too many of those around. Another good reason to come to Oregon. Do they bloom in the fall also?
LikeLike
Oh no. They bloom when the irises bloom in May. When you are coming it will be dahlias only. Some people will still have roses blooming and hydrangeas if they are in the shade.

Love the purple Alium. We planted some one time (in Holland) but moved before they could bloom!

Just gorgeous. I would love to have this in my garden. I’m looking for shade plants. I’ve been spending most of the day every day out in my garden with Zoe. Trying to accustom her to going potty outside and also supervising her time with the larger dogs. Today I was throwing the ball for Morrie and Zoe strayed right in to his potential path. Diego took off like a shot to stand between the two so Morrie didn’t hit her. Amazing. But they can’t be always around. I need to rig up a Zoe-proof barrier between the lower garden and the pools so I don’t have to worry about her drowning. She doesn’t seem inclined to jump in, but with the bigger dogs there is always a chance of her being accidently pushed in. When she’s a bit older I’ll make sure she knows how to swim and how to get to the stairs to get out of the pool but for now I want to be able to gate her off from them. Actually, I’m enjoying spending that much time outside. I had a little patio built down there with a small table and two comfy chairs. It’s in the shade of the pistachio tree and such a pleasant place with a view of most of the lower garden. When we need a rest, Zoe and I nap in the nearby hammock and there is an electrical outlet and an extension cord that reaches the table on the small patio if I run out of juice on my computer. This new little inhabitant of my house and heart has changed my life radically and that is good. I’ve always liked change and had gotten into a bit of a rut. No longer. –because of Zoe and a few other factors.

Wish I known about this one for Beth’s funeral. Absolutely beautiful, but it looks like I had better not sneeze around it! LOL. 🤗🥰

I wouldn’t recommend sneezing. They also attract a lot of bees 😀 😀
