FOTD – April 25 – Iris and Lily Update

Welcome to my Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  During the winter months, please feel free to use your archives and find some old favorite photos.

Please feel free to post every day or when you you feel like it.  Don’t forget that my FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.

This first photo is of the first bud on one of the bearded irises. The second photo you can see the other irises and lilies are starting get over the shock of being planted. We had rain most of the week, so mother nature did most of the watering. However it didn’t rain yesterday and unlikely to rain today, so I watered them quickly this morning.

The pollen chart will be off the charts, so I’m planning on staying inside today. It’s suppose to rain the next couple of days, so I’ll get the rest of the lilies planted then.

The lilies are the little red buds that are starting to come through the soil. They won’t bloom until late summer.
