Here is my entry for Terri’s, Sunday Stills Challenge.
Here is Terri’s opening sentence to her post this week “Now that the pandemic is hopefully behind us in the rear-view mirror and restrictions have lifted for the most part, do you feel like you have finally emerged from some alien cocoon?”
This picture kind of represents the emergence of Covid. It hit everyone with a bang.

My life has dramatically been changed during the pandemic. As most of your know, we had to escape from smoke and wildfires and the safety of our home and travel in a world full of covid. We came home with a minor case of covid and happened to get covid long haul a a result. This was before any of the vaccine’s came out. It’s been over a year and a half ago now, that we have been unable to clean our house, cook our own food, or go outdoors and for me that means, very little photography or trips to the flower gardens and fields. Our health just doesn’t allow for it. Yes, we are better than a year ago, but only by small increments.
We personally know 5 or 6 other people in our small circle of family, friends and co workers who have covid long haul. All of our lives will permanently be effected. I am not including those who lost their lives or family members or friends whose loved ones have died..
This photo of an emerging bearded iris last May. I did manage to get to Adelman’s Peony farm, but I had to sit and use a long lens for most of my photos.

This next photo of emerging tulips I took this past spring in my yard.

And this photo is the tulips that emerged to full bloom.

I’ve put together a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists

We all lost loved ones to covid, Cee, and like you, many of us (me included) are still experiencing an array of long-haul effects. As you and others slowly emerge from the effects of the pandemic, may God give you healing. Please know that your beautiful images of emerging florals and other wonderful images you share every day, provide a bit of healing to our weary eyes and souls.

I didn’t realize you had covid long haul. I knew you had a light case of covid. Hope your symptoms eventually subside. 😀 😀
Thanks so much for your encouraging that thought words. I could feel it 😀

Its tragic to think that so many people passed, Cee. And ironic that with my mild case, that I could still lose my senses of taste and smell in a disjointed weird way. I’ve gotten used to it I guess.

I’m watching Top Chef right now and one of the chef’s had covid and has the same issues you do. He has to have everyone taste his food. I hope someday it will heal up for you. 😀

What an ordeal! I hope for your continued healing! And thankful you have flowers nearby to enjoy – at all of their emerging stages – even while you are housebound. Thanks for continuing to share your beautiful flowers with us. 🙂

Sorry to read that you’re still suffering, Cee. May your recovery continue quickly and completely. You’re still taking lovely shots, though. I really like the first shot of the magnificent wave and having a person in the shot seems to show the power of nature compared to that of people…or maybe I’m just reading into it. 🙂 Lovely shot either way.

I think you described the person well. I left her in the photo on purpose. 😀

Your photos seem to form a good metaphor for your past year. Hope you are soon in full bloom. xo

I’m sorry to hear you’re still struggling with the effects of long Covid. It sounds really nasty but it’s good to know you’re at least making slow progress. I really hope things start to improve more quickly soon 🤗

Thanks Sarah. I hope things continue to heal too. I keep hoping I’ll get to a tipping point and just sky rocket back to normality.

I love the way you told this story of the pandemic through the eyes of nature.
I, too, wish you continued healing. It was a horrible ordeal. And we continue to bloom, and grow, it might just look a little different right now. Donna.
