FOTD – May 30 – Bearded Iris

Welcome to my Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  During the winter months, please feel free to use your archives and find some old favorite photos.

Please feel free to post every day or when you you feel like it.  Don’t forget that my FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.

There are actually three of these irises in bloom. Over the past few days their buds bloomed. Due to heavy rains two fell to the ground.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  1. I love that deep maroon color. Your irises look like velvet.

We’ve got a garden full of columbine. The Rhododendrons and lilacs are gone and the day lilies are budding but won’t bloom for another couple of weeks. Roses too. My post will be up in the morning.

  2. I am a sucker for weathered wood. Put pretty flowers in front of them, give me a nice spot in the shade with a drink in hand with music from the 60s & 70s, and talk about a staycation….. I love this Cee.
