FOTD – May 31 – Peonies Buds

Welcome to my Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  During the winter months, please feel free to use your archives and find some old favorite photos.

Please feel free to post every day or when you you feel like it.  Don’t forget that my FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  1. I am so jealous. We used to have a neighbor that was an absolute horticulturalist at heart (he delivered milk) and grew peonies, bleeding hearts, and snap dragons. I love those big beautiful flowers.

  2. Peony buds are the best and this particular one is prolific. Mum has been telling me about the progress of her peony bud, but it sounds as if she only has the one!

      • Are there boring ones, though? I’d love to try growing them, but I think we’re too dry. I never see them in florist’s.

        • If you don’t see them around you, you probably are to dry and hot. Yes, there are boring peonies. Not the one shown, but there are white ones that don’t have a center to them. They are just all frilly petals. Very hard to photograph. Some peonies have the most outrageous centers. 😀 😀
