Chris and I ventured out and drove around the dahlia fields. They are starting to bloom nicely. In a month or so they should be gorgeous.
Here is one of their workers picking dahlias for bouquets.

He then collects them in this little wagon.

Here is a shot of one of the red dahlias in bloom.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

They are a little behind schedule this year, because we had a cold spring and weren’t planted as early as they’d like. 😀

Did you get some to take home?

I didn’t even get out of my car. Even the handicapped parking was still at least a 1/4 mile from the dahlia gardens and where I could have bought a bouquet. If I go back, I’ll park and walk up one of the run ways. I doubt if I can get up to the gardens though. 😀

What a lovely drive, with the promise of more flowers, soon. They have thick stems, from the cart view.

They work on getting these stems so strong. There is a way to do it, but a lot of work. 😀
