Modes of Travel and ‘Cations – Lens-Artists & Sunday Stills Photo Challenges

Here is my entry for John’s Lens-Artists Photo A Week Challenge with the topic of Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

This is also my entry for Terri’s Sunday Stills Challenge with the topic of #Staycation Over a #Vacation. Chris and I usually opt for staycations and take day trips.

A two hour Sternwheeler cruise down the Columbia River.
A photo from the passenger seat on a day trip in Oregon.
This would be fun to travel on, Vintage US Nightingale DC-9 Jet used by the Vice President and Secretary of State as well as other dignitaries.
And who wouldn’t want a guest trip in a fighter jet.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  1. Day trips are so welcomed and fun. We opted to stay home for Labor Day weekend, but took a local drive on Monday to ride through a couple of small towns just north of us! Lovely pics, Cee. That one shot of the road from the passenger seat is amazing!

  2. The road going through the forest just amazes me. For a country that had European settlement over 450 years ago, you’ve managed to keep so much natural resources.

  3. You would be hard pressed to talk me onto a trip in a ‘normal’ plane. The fighter jet – as impressive as they are to watch in action, a flight on one ? The answer would be a very hard no. My feet are just fine on the ground.
