Here is my entry for Dawn’s Festival of Leaves Challenge Week 1. This is also my entry for Parul’s, Happiness and Food blog, #ThursdayTreeLove Challenge.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

Ah that’s lovely. It’s still too early in the UK to think of joining in this challenge. Our day will come!

I should do that. I will try and remember to do it on Monday. I usually takes Fri-Sun off of business stuff on my blog.

I think I’ve told you before that we had three sugar maples in our front yard that were so beautiful in the fall, I would have cars stop by to tell me that. Sadly, a hurricane took them all down like dominos in a row. Twenty some years ago and I still miss them. These are gorgeous, Cee.

I can see where you miss hem. I didn’t have them in my yard, but the street in front of me had a whole row of them. Most of them came down in the ice storm a couple of years ago. I miss them too. There were about 40-50′ high. They’ve replanted a few of them (maybe only 8-10 feet high) and put other types of trees too. My view is changed forever.

Spectacular color especially against the evergreen in the foreground.

Our autumn’s may not be spectacular because we have so many evergreens, but we do have some gorgeous trees that do change colors 😀

Gorgeous colors, Cee. The maples were just beginning to turn in Canada. What a glorious color.

This is an old photo. The sugar maples are just beginning to show the slightest hint of changes right now. 😀

We went out today and discovered we are about 10 days early. We will start seeing color — real color — probably around the middle of the first week in October. You can see right now where it will be changing. The trees are a little bit red and the alders are definitely yellow — but they turn yellow in late August. We need a good fall. It has been a kind of awful summer so this one good season needs to be REALLY good 🙂
