FOTD – September 28 – Ox Eyed Daisy, Orchid, Oriental Poppy

Welcome to my Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  During the winter months, please feel free to use your archives and find some old favorite photos.

Please feel free to post every day or when you you feel like it.  Don’t forget that my FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.

Judy from Lifelessons and I are playing with the Alphabet for flower names. Feel free to play along with us if you want. If you want help identifying flowers that start with a specific letter check out AllMyFavoriteFlowerNames.

  1. I was waiting for O. I have so many orchid photographs, not to mention a slew of drawings. And yet somehow, I’m STILL a letter behind!

    Ox-eyed Daisies look like “original” daisies — the ones we all think of when someone says “daisy.” And that is a beautiful orchid. If only orchids had a scent to go with their beauty. I still have one pot blooming. I think the best part of growing them is that after a long wait, they bloom for such a LONG time. Months! By the time these stop blooming, I hope another set will be sending up buds.
