CBWC: Trains or Train Tracks

This week the black and white challenge topic is Trains or Train Tracks. I hope you have FUN a lot of fun with this challenge.

Be creative if you feel like it, and have fun with this challenge this week. Remember your photos needs to be black and white, desaturated, sepia (brown tones) or selective color.  I’m looking forward to seeing what you all come up.

Please note that I have a series of Tips from Cee page. I posted several tips for black and white you may want to check out.

Feel free to take new photos or dig through your archives.  The main object of this challenge is to have fun.

For a list of upcoming topics, please see the list below.  Be creative and challenge yourself.  For a great black and white photo look for contrast or highly textured subjects to photograph.

  1. Owen took all the train pictures, so he is the author of this post. This train — which still runs once every day, though it doesn’t go anywhere — was the tiny railroad that services the factories and mills along the Blackstone River. Most of the factories — at least the ones that were built from bricks — are still there, deep in the swamps. There are no roads, so the factories are still standing deep in the swamps.

    There’s a lot of history that go with these trains. They have a lot of old pictures from when these factories were functional at the museum in town.
