Welcome to my Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  During the winter months, please feel free to use your archives and find some old favorite photos.

Please feel free to post every day or when you you feel like it.  Don’t forget that my FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.

  25. I know! It’s pretty amazing how the same patterns reoccur over and over from the microscopic to the grandest galaxy in the universe. Just look at the patterns on those leaves, and then compare it to the watershed of the Amazon basin. They’re virtually identical. Or the swirl of a pinwheel galaxy and the way water flushes down a toilet. The way planets orbit around a star and subatomic particles spin around an atom. Mind-blowing!

      • Well, we didn’t have wind, but the leaves just fell. We don’t usually have this volume at once. They usually fall gradually over four to six weeks, but now they are absolutely bare, EXCEPT for the Japanese maple tree which just turned red this morning.
