Here is my entry for Tina of Lens-Artists Photo A Week Challenge.
Tina is asking us to show off our own country. Since the US too big to cover in a week or even a month, I’m sticking to the State of Oregon.
A favorite place I like to take visitors is the Columbia Gorgeous Highway. Particularly from Portland to Cascade Locks. I think it is the most beautiful drive in the world.
The other place I would take them is the coast. Here is a slide show of Astoria, Oregon.
Here some scenic views heading south down the Pacific coast.
I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.
Qi (energy) hugs
Cee

Oh that place with the waterfall and the bridge is gorgeous! So are the Pacific Coast and the bridge in Astoria 😀. A tiny tidbit which you might know – the city Astoria is named after John Jacob Astor, one of the first or may be the first multi millionaire of USA from the 19th century, and whose family later made the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York. Incidentally, a long time ago, I’ve been to the house of John Jacob Astor where he was born and raised! It is now a museum and is located in a small town in Germany named Walldorf! If you’d like to read about my visit there, you can find it here – https://reflectionsontheriver.wordpress.com/2011/04/25/astorhaus/

The one place I didn’t highlight was the Willamette Valley where I live. We have orchards, hops, grapes (wineries), and open landscape. 😀 😀

That’s incredible, to have so many beautiful scenes in one State. Water is, unsurprisingly, a key feature.

Oregon is IMHO one of our most beautiful Cee. I’ve spent quite a bit of time there (except in the winter LOL). The coastline is amazing, as are the many beautiful vineyards. You’ve done a marvelous job of highlighting a beautiful part of the state. Your slide shows are the perfect solution for showcasing so many places – excellent idea! Your images as always are wonderful, beautifully composed and rich with nature’s colors. Perfect!

I actually live in the Willamette Valley, where a lot of orchard, farms, hops and open landscape is. I could have featured them. I kind of stay away from that because I highlighted flower fields the last fews days of Becky’s squares 😀 😀 I agree with you about Oregon’s beauty. 😀

I was just telling my friends this afternoon on our way home from our outing that if I could go to one place to visit, I would choose Oregon. I have family and friends there but your pictures are big part of my desire also.

You have always made me love Oregon, Cee. Beautifully captured as always – and I so love that green bridge…If there is one state I would visit in the US, it would be Oregon. There are so many posts from you showcasing its beauty – you are an excellent ambassador for it.
