FOTD – January 27 – Amaryllis

Welcome to my Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  Please use your archived photos or find some old favorite photos if you like. Feel free to post every day or when you you feel like it. 

Don’t forget that my FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers. To see entire list of accepted flowers, click here. Please do not submit photos of trees that don’t show colorful blooms or autumn colors.  Leaf close ups are always welcome.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

    • You know I never felt it. I’m so used to taking photos at nurseries or farms where I really don’t touch the plants at all. I don’t want to give other people thought of touching them and injuring them. This amaryllis was on my desk and the thought of touching never entered my mind.

      I was at a rose garden once, were I saw people actually cutting (breaking stems off) the bushes. Not good.

      • Oh no! Cheapskates. I do touch flowers, unless I know it harms them, like camellia. But I’m very gentle and talk to them kindly while I do it.

        • Oh I have not doubt that you are gentle. I told Chris about what I said and she said, you don’t touch them do you. I think me as a photographer should really obey the rules. kind of like a Judge should really live up to the letter of the law. Yes, I’m funny that way. 😀
