Here is my entry for Amy of Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. My east meets west shows photos about 100 miles east or west of where I live.
Going East – Multnomah Falls, near Cascade Locks, Oregon.

Going East – Mt Hood from Hood River, Oregon.

Going West – Port of Portland, Oregon. Port of Portland is probably 25 miles and slightly east of where I live. All shipping vessels need to go northwest up the Columbia River and out to the Pacific Ocean in Astoria, Oregon. This photo below I took at the Port of Portland.

Going West – A ship heading to Portland going under the Astoria Megler Bridge.

A great interpretation. Multnomah never disappoints. And I loved the ship under the bridge. It is such a diverse city, in so many way.s

I really liked where you took your response to this challenge, Cee. It’s a look-from-my-window response if your window were really high and you had great eyesight. 🙂

The window would have to be high. Although, I can see Mt Hood from here, but it looks way different. 😀 😀

Multnomah falls is breathtaking. I especially like that bridge, which looks so old but beautiful.

Things looks weathered fast here because of the moss. Plus that bridge would get a lot mist on it from the falls 😀 😀

I’d be cautious of using it, then.

Fun choice for the week Cee and beautiful images as always. We visited the falls several years ago. Sadly it was a very dry year and they weren’t really flowing as they are in your photo so I appreciated it all the more!

I usually go just after winter so it’s falling nicely. 😀 😀 Sorry you weren’t able to see it in its brilliance 😀

Those first 2 are fabulous, Cee. I’d love to walk across that bridge.

It’s quite a climb up to it. I almost made it one year. It’s a nicely groomed trail, you would love to walk it. 😀 The trail goes up to the top.

Yes, I absolutely would, Cee 💗

So – go East for peace and quiet and wild places, and West for the buzzing industrial heart of Oregon? Is that a fair enough over-simplification of your state? Great photos anyway!

Mostly a fair assessment. Portland has over 2,000,000 people and that where most of the industry is, except for logging and farming. The coast is definitely all fishing. 😀 😀

Multnomah Falls is on my bucket list. I hope it’s as beautiful in person.

It is, but there are a lot of people and parking is getting harder all the time. If you go in the winter, it isn’t nearly as busy. And that’s when I usually go.

Thanks for the tip! Do the falls ever freeze?
LikeLike
No. I just wouldn’t go on days it’s snowing or freezing. And we don’t get that many days like that.

You caught my eye at Multnomah Falls, but Mt. Hood was a navigation guide when we first moved to Portland. You’ve made Portland famous.
