I’ve recently been asked a couple of questions regarding what type of photos can be used in my challenges.
- Do I have to be the photographer? Yes, they must be photos that you have taken. Family members can also take photos, but I would make sure you have permission to use them and as a courtesy name the photographer.
- Can I use photos from an internet search? No.
- Can photos be used more than once? Yes, of course. You can always used any archived (old) photos.
- Can I use other bloggers photos? This is not recommended. However, if you really want to use a photo, ask for permission to post their photo on your blog.. And once permission is granted, make sure you add a pingback (link) to that blogger.
WordPress Pingback aren’t working today. This is happening more and more with WP. I would recommend that you add a comment to challenges you enter and put your post URL in the comment section. I always do. Because when pingbacks aren’t working the host has no idea you have posted a link. I used to add my link in comments but I thought it was an annoying overload in the challenge hosts sites comments. Time to go back to what I used to do thanks Cee. I love Pansy faces 😀😀

They are also doing some very weird stuff with graphics. At least I used to be able to FIND the section where you could define graphic. Now, it’s gone missing and I can’t find it for anything but the old standard single photo or old standard gallery. What do they have against photographers? They make it SO difficult to post photographs and just when you figure it can’t get worse, it does.

I always put in new photos for each post, so I don’t have that trouble 😀

So do I, but there was a box where you could define how you wanted galleries to appears, whether or not you wanted the photos cropped — among other items. Just putting in a photo is not a problem, but using any of the galleries was not a problem, but now IS pretty much impossible.

I’m so glad I’ve never relied on anything but my computer and double back up to house my photos.

AT least I have everything backed up. It’s just I liked using galleries and they are making them useless. The pictures I have, but the galleries are theirs. I could design some using Photoshop templates, but that seems like too much work at the moment.
