Imagine doing this on a Typewriter? – Six Word Saturday

This post is in response to Debbie’s at Travel With Intent blog Six Word Saturday Challenge.

Vintage portable (notice it’s in a case) typewriter Photo. I’d love to try typing on it.

Check this video of James Cook creating art from an old portable manual typewriter.

Here is James Cook’s website to see some more of his outstanding art. I can’t believe the creativity in these pieces of art nor the time it actually takes him to do them.

  1. I had an old typewriter that was my grandparents, but somehow along the way someone got rid of it. But I do remember learning to type on those typewriters! Then we got electric. And I also remember in school that we would create designs on our typewriters. Very simple ones, but they were cool. THIS! This is amazing!!!!!

    • I love typing on the old typewriters. The sound they make when you have a good rhythm of typing is still music to my years. And I learned to type on them as well. My last year in high school we finally got electric typewriters. His work is amazing. I couldn’t conceive of figuring how to do it. ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€

    • You aged many of us. Don’t feel bad. We are all nice wiser and better than ever. I started in Junior High learning on those from the 50s. This one is a little older I believe ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. He is certainly clever doing that on a typewriter. I still have my Dads typewriter. I used to have fun as a kid. On day it will find it’s way to the shed for a clean up ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I only know these things from visiting my dad’s office sometimes where a stenographer would be typing. I think I tried it once but it seemed like a very difficult task to type without making any mistake because there is no back button like in our computer keyboards ๐Ÿ˜‚. I once saw clips of a movie – Populaire (French), where there is a speed typing competition in which pretty well dressed women competed. It was fascinating.
