Beautiful, Cee! I know it’s a poppy but I’ve now got the lyric “raindrops on roses (and whiskers on kittens)” running through my head. A happy song and a happy photo 🙂
Good I needed a song to replace the song running in my head right now. Raindrops and roses is a good one. 😀 I’ve been running “On a Beautiful Morning” from Scrooge-Tiny Tim sang it.
Ooh, I don’t know that one and I love “A Christmas Carol”! (Blast from the past – years ago, I played Mrs. Cratchit in a musical production at my local community theatre 😂).
I am fascinated by stamens, pistils and anthers of flowers. Especially in poppies, lotus and passionfruit flowers. Hibiscus are neat as well..And actually, I could go on naming flowers for five minutes or so, but won’t. Suffice it to say that this photo is great. And so cheery on this overcast day we had today. After a volcanic eruption last night (I can see Colima Volcano from my house) and torrential rains that filled the streets with rocks from the mountain up above, I am hoping for no rain tonight as a friend in the village says there’s a threat of a huge landslide like the one we had 10 years ago or so. Don’t need that!
That must be scary having an active Volcano that close to you. I know you’ve mentioned it before, I didn’t realize how active it was. I hope it stops raining for you. We are rainy today and we need it. So send your rain up here. 😀
It is 56 miles away, but I can see it from my house. I go right by it to get to the beach and I’ve blogged a number of photos of it.
“Colima volcano is one of the most active in Central America and one of the potentially most dangerous ones. It has had more than 30 periods of eruptions since 1585, including several significant eruptions in the late 1990s.” (copied from the volcano website.)
Just had the scare of my life (hyperbole.) Frida and I went out on a photo expedition today. I came in, answered a few comments, then opened the camera to install the sd card in my computer and NO CARD!!!!! I was so angry at myself until I noticed I’d already installed it in the computer. Phew.

Love how the shape of the pollen clusters are mimicked by the shape of the raindrops. This is a gorgeous shot, Cee.

Honestly, I think I was much more “talented” ultimately stage managing the production than on the boards 🙂 But it was a lot of fun!

Go for it. Most lenses will let you get fairly close. And if it is a picture in good focus …. crop it a bit.

I saw there was one last year too. 56 miles isn’t that far if it really goes crazy.
