Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge: Things Made Out of Plastic

Battery powered plastic notice candles.

Battery powered plastic notive candles.

This week the topic is Things Made Out of Plastic.   All I did was walk around my house and find different things made out of plastic or covered by plastic.  Plastic can be soft and flexible like bubble wrap, or hard like a case for your radio or somewhere in-between like your bottle of shampoo.  I am looking forward to seeing what kind of plastics you can find.  Have a lot of fun with this topic.  Sepia tones and selective color are always allowed in this challenge.  I just want you to have some fun with your photography.

For a list of upcoming topics, please see the list at below.  Be creative and challenge yourself.  For a great black and white photo look for contrast or highly textured subjects to photograph.

Feel free to dig around in your archives for photos if you don’t have anything new you can photograph.

MY ENTRY THIS WEEK

I got a new lens for my full frame Sony A7II camera this past week.  The lens is a Sony fixed FE 50mm 1.8.  I’m also learning how to take photos in low light situations.  I didn’t use a flash for any of these photo.  I kept the lighting to a minimum just to see if I could pull it off.  You can be the judge, but I think for a first time effort, I did well.

A small plastic lantern.

A small plastic lantern maybe 7 or 8 inches tall including handle..  This photo was taken in a dark room with just the lantern turned on.

My clock radio and iPod player which is covered in plastic and located next to my bed.

  1. I like the photo of the straw in the drinking glass, Cee. The pattern on the straw accentuates each third of the length as it passes thru the lid into the space below and finally the water. A great composition.

  2. Since we gained an hour this week, I seem to arrive quicker where I want to go on WordPress and so I am already here with my stuff. Love your original photos especially the clock radio combined with the iPod player. I do not do iPod, but Mr. Swiss, now that would be a good idea.
