This week the topic is Natural ground:  sand, dirt, paths, walks, trails.   This we are are getting down and dirty.  I want to see sand and dirt or any kind of natural ground you might find on trails, hikes, forests, beaches or near rivers.  I like to see close-ups when possible.  I just want you to have some fun with your photography.

For a list of upcoming topics, please see the list below.  Be creative and challenge yourself.  For a great black and white photo look for contrast or highly textured subjects to photograph.

Feel free to dig around in your archives for photos if you don’t have anything new you can photograph.

MY ENTRY THIS WEEK

A feather I found on the ground.

A feather I found on the ground.

Dirt road.

Dirt road.

I found this at the beach one day. Chris calls it a sand tree. The rocks formed the tree and its branches as the waves travelled through and over them.

  1. The sand tree is stunning. Your photo is so beautiful, and you are such a great observer! I believe I wouldn’t have noticed it.
Hope this week I can join your challenge. Big hugs from frozen Italy ❄⛄☃❄❄❄

  2. I guess an Iris can be like a weed. It can grow anywhere. Although, I imagine the dirt came from
an area where there were Iris’ planted. Nice selection of dirt, Cee. I’m trying to catch up on some
of your challenges. It’s been difficult getting back into the swing of blogging. Hope you enjoy !!!

  3. Love the sand tree! I was at the beach on Tuesday and was taking similar pics, but only had faint, straight trails from the stones because the sand was already dried out quite a bit. Settled for posting a shell instead.
