I like the bell with just a hint of colour and I like the moose, not a creature I get to see very often. Here is my entry.

I was going to mention that those are elk, but since moose ARE elk, just very big ones, it’s just a matter of bulk and size of those big antlers. I think you do have moose out there, though. There are moose all over the north, including Canada … and Sweden and Norway, which means there must have been a way to cross it in some earlier time.
I love the elk. They are the most elegant of all our antlered friends. And big, too!

I switched out the elk and added a moose photo. I did put in the wrong photo. Thanks for catching it. Elk with their antlers do seem elegant and impressive.

I thought I might have to miss this week as the connection to my Ribbet programme for B/W had not been working for a week with Flickr. I found the culprit, it was my Chrome and did a new upload so everything OK. Love your elk/moose – I thought they were the same animal being a European Brit. My husband saw many in Sweden on business, silly but wonderful animals.

I took the elk out and put in a moose. I just grabbed the wrong photo. I’ll use the elk later. 😀 Glad you figured our your problem.

I love your little contests. I have to jump in some time. I’m a very amateur photographer, if I can even call it that, but want to learn as I go. Don’t have access to photoshop right now and use GIMP, but again, have so much to learn!

From what I hear GIMP is really good software. I hope you do play along and have fun. 😀

Yesterday I actually brought a raw image in for the first time and gimp turned into a completely different program that I have to sit with and figure out. I’m guessing more like photoshop. It’s always compared except that it’s free and I know photoshop is the best. I have to learn to edit raw images. Right now I don’t. and I hope to play along soon too!!!

RAW photos are so fun to edit. You can really make some great changes. Just be patient with yourself. You’ll get the hang of it and will figure out what you like or don’t like. You will soon develop your own style of editing and art.

I shot in the raw once and for some reason when I transferred the photos over something happened. So, I haven’t done it since then. I have to try it again. I’ll do it when the pictures don’t totally matter. Thank you for the tip!!!!

I hate to tell you this, but those are elk, not moose. 😉 I really want to go to Northwest Trek one of these days, but so far I never get past looking at their website. What focal length were you using when you were there?

I was there so long ago, that I used my 70-300m. I took their tour for photographers. It is a van that they drive through early in the morning. It was a cold foggy morning and not a lot of animals were out, but it was beautiful.

Thanks for the info. I just got a 55-200 lens for my APS-C sensor camera, which is roughly equivalent to a 70-300 full frame, so it looks like I’d be fine. I was eyeing the photographer’s tour as the way to go also.
