Here is my entry for WordPress Daily Post Weekly Challenge with the topic of my favorite photos of 2017 – August and September. During these two months I didn’t take many photos. I was stuck inside because of smoke from wildfires.
August
I happen to live in the path of the solar eclipse we had in August. Here is a photo I got from it. Photo was taken in my back yard.
An old tree stump in my front yard.
September
A hot air balloon that flew close to our house.
Playing around with geometry in my house.

I really love your solstice photo! I was not in the path, but was totally engrossed watching it cross the country on tv. I definitely want to go see the next one.

I didn’t think it would be a big deal really. But it was totally FASCINATING and AMAZING. The animals, the people, the shadows moving that fast. We literally cooled down 15-20 degrees in minutes and then warmed back up just as fast. Amazing.

Well, Cee, that solar eclipse photo is amazing. I can’t imagine living where a hot air balloon goes drifting past! Thanks for sharing.

We’ll get them in August. They try and land at an airport near us. Sometimes they drift close enough to get a good shot.

I like how you said, “try and land!”

Another set of lovely favourites. As I live in the forest, I have many many tree stumps to photograph but never do. I may have to find some interesting ones for your future photo challenge Stumped lol

I like the bark on this tree. Stumps in forests can be quite interesting. A lot of plants can grow on them. 😀

Yes, so many mosses, ferns and other plants use them. You will have me stump hunting 🙂
