Here is my entry for WordPress Daily Post Weekly Challenge with the topic of Tour Guide.
As most of you know, I live in Canby, Oregon. A small town about an hour south from downtown Portland. It is a 15 minute drive to the freeway so we are not considered a suburb of Portland.
Canby has a ferry which crosses the Willamette River. If the freeway is closed for any reason, this ferry is the only way to get to Portland without many miles out of your way.
Canby is the home of Swan Island Dahlia Farm. Many of you are very familiar with the dahlia farm since it is my home away from home in late summer.
Canby has a busy railroad track that runs along Highway 99 and goes through the middle of town.
Canby is also where our County has its Even Center and Annual County Fair.

Thank you for a beautiful tour, Cee. You live in a beautiful part of the country! That shot of the train and the boy on a bike really hit me. Love the grey and the orange together – nicely done.

You just might decide to move. We get less than an inch of snow a year. This year I don’t think we have even had a flake of snow 😀

So lovely to see your little corner of the US. Americana at its finest. My best friend lives in Portland and I’ve visited her but never made it to Canby. Quaint 🤗

Canby is quaint little town. A lot of people in Portland don’t even now where Canby is because we are not right on the freeways.

Thank you for this tour, Cee! We just spent last evening with some friends whose daughter is going to school in Corvallis, which is not too far from where you are.
I particularly like the photo with the boy in the orange Tee – I love the selective colourisation!

I like the bi-tond photo of the youngster on the bike near the train track. The stroke of yellow in the vegetation behind him works well with his shirt and draws the eyes to the back of the train.
