Thursday’s Special: Pick a Word In May – Y3

Here is my entry for Paula’s (Lost In Translation blog) Thursday Special challenge.  This week her theme is Pick a Word In May – Y3.

iconic – Smokey the Bear

Being a child of a Forest Service Ranger (and now sister in law of one).  Smokey the bear was a huge part of my childhood living in the woods.  Created in 1944, the Smokey Bear Wildfire Prevention campaign is the longest-running public service advertising campaign in U.S. history, educating generations of Americans about their role in preventing wildfires. As one of the world’s most recognizable characters, Smokey’s image is protected by U.S. federal law and is administered by the USDA Forest Service, the National Association of State Foresters and the Ad Council.

  1. You mastered the challenge – Paula’s words are never easy. I like the … merhorse (?). And the mushrooms from underneath. My favourite, though, is Idaho – a very scenic photo.
