Chris nad I went to check out Swan Island Dahlias earlier this morning. They are going to be open, but with limited times.
This first photo shows that they put up a gate keeping people out of the garden area. This gate is brand new. The parking for the dahlia fields and store is back by the trees.
This next photo is of the sign that is right by the gate.
There are dahlias fields all around the area and I was able to get a couple of photos from the car.
And here is another one.
I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

I’m so jealous you live close enough to enjoy Swan island. I would be there every day! Can’t wait for new photos.

They usually plant them later than people who grow them. They want to make sure the bulbs are healthy and don’t get too much rain or freeze. So next week, they should be starting to blooms in their gardens. I can’t wait.

That’s great news Cee. I’m so happy you will get to see your beloved dahlias and we’ll be able to see them too, in turn.

It is great news. Next week there should be a few out in bloom. So I’m planning on going when they open at least once a week until it gets too crowded or the season is over 😀 😀

You nailed it. I’m missing the “life” I get from all my flower fields around me. At least i will get my dahlias this year. 😀

Looks like a place I could check out. I’m still scheduled to visit mid August for my Grandsons birthday but I’m “iffy” about it

I know I thought about you when we drove up there. I can certainly see where you are iffy about it. Use your grandmother instinct. If you do come, I’d love to meet you at the dahlias. Social distancing should be easy there.

I’m going to wait a few more days and see how the numbers look, is Oregon still going up?

We stopped looking because it is too depressing. I just looked it up, it is starting to go down. If you do come, make sure you use masks. Have your family been tested or sheltering in?

I don’t think they have been tested but they stick close to home

Charming! They must be something to see growing en masse in the fields.

Oh they are something spectacular to see. I’m so glad they are going to be open. They are just not having their festivities this year. At least right now they are planning to have the fields open. 😀

The fields need about 3 weeks to start really looking impressive. In a week or so, I can go and find individual dahlias.
