These are all great but I think Umbrella Guy is my favourite. He looks so lifelike as if he might just walk out of the frame.

That final carving is amazing. Do you know who the artist is?

I took this at Pearsons Art Gallery in Oregon City off of Hwy 99. During Covid they are working by appointment only.

No kidding. The day I was out photographing his work … I believe it was on the 4th of July, as we left people were just driving in … they had an appointment. IF money were no object and I had a bigger yard, I would get a carving.

Hi Cee, I like the guy with the umbrella. I read that he’s just some guy.
Still, I bet there’s a story behind the statue. At first I thought he was a politician about to say something. Now I think he’s trying to catch a cap.

I love the man that starts your post, Cee. And as you’ve already spotted I found a very similar statue in London. https://travelwithintent.com/2020/08/06/men-in-bronze-and-stone/

I also like the fish. Who’s the guy with the umbrella?

It’s a statue in Pioneer Square, in Portland, Oregon. It is of no one in particular that I know of.

Love the fish! My brother did many pieces with fish as a theme, as a clay artist.
