Here is my entry for Becky’s for January SquareUp challenge.
Oregon City, Oregon has an elevator that connects two neighborhoods because a cliff separates them. It is also a Vertical Street. To find out more about the history of the Vertical street, click here.
Becky, don’t get upset with me, this first photo is not square, simply because I wanted to show the entire elevator. I did try to find photos I’ve taken with blue up in the sky to cheer you.

The stairs (again not square) on the left, is the other way to get up to the top or down to the bottom. I climbed down. Chris took this photo, I’m about 2/3 of the way. The photo on the right is square and shows only a portion of the steps.

The photo on the left, is a photo of the elevator during construction in the 1950s. The photo on the right shows the entry at the bottom.

Instead of showing you the inside of the observation booth, I thought this gives you an idea of the view and captures the observation booth.

Here is my drumming feature for the day.
I’ve put together a list of challenges and their hosts. So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog. Feel free to contact me anytime. I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.
Qi (energy) hugs

I had no idea that even existed. How fun! Such a great post, Cee. I love the blue, blue sky, and I’m glad you included the picture for perspective. 🙂

I thought it needed some perspective and I knew Becky wouldn’t get too upset LOL

I remember going here as a kid. We lived not far from Oregon City. I haven’t been there in ages. Thanks for sharing.

I bet it looks pretty much the same. That area has not changed a lot 😀
