My groove or grooves? – Lens-Artist Challenge

Here is my entry for Anne’s of the Lens-Artists Photo A Week Challenge with the topic of What’s your photographic groove?

My first serious digital pre-SLR camera or at least that what they were called. It was a Sony DSC-H9. In fact all the photos in this post were taken with that camera (2007 and 2008). It was my second digital Sony camera. It had all the bells and whistles, except it didn’t have changeable lenses. It took fabulous photos.

The best part of that camera, there was a separate setting for flower close ups. Which as many of you know is my main groove.

Because of the convenience of digital photography, I found a groove in what I call oddballs. Taking photos of things that are not common topics.

I also started editing my photos in an Apple program called Aperture. This is where I fell in love with black and white photography.

  2. That bell may be one of the most interesting pictures I’ve seen. Oddball pictures are really what stands out about someone’s photography, I think. There has to be something more appealing to a picture to make it a photograph and not a snapshot. I love so much what you’ve taught me about Bridge and feel I am really beginning to turn some of my favorite snapshots into photographs. I’m not sure that they are at “Oddball” Level yet, but they have improved so much and given me so much pleasure in working with them.

  5. Oddballs are definitely fun to look for or stumble upon and capture. Glad to see the icy bell made it here. I like the blue daisy and the beach with the walking bird a lot too.

  13. Great post Cee! Your flowers are beautiful and that old camera did take good pictures. I also like that you diversify, looking for odd things and doing black and white. I think if we stuck with one groove, it would get boring. Have a groovy day and thanks for joining in.

    • I will take photos of everything and anything. I get comments from people when I’m out and about like “Why are you taking a photo of that?” I just smile and say, because I want to and its fun 😀
