FOTD – January 2 – Sunflower

Welcome to my Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD).  During the winter months, please feel free to use your archives and find some old favorite photos.

Please feel free to post every day or when you you feel like it.  Don’t forget that my FOTD challenge accepts gardens, leaves and berries as well as flowers.

I thought for a little white this year, I would do some color and black and white comparisons of flowers.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  29. I can’t think of a more perfect flower for the first day of the new year than a sunflower. May we sun and rain in season. And may we have a good year. We deserve it.

  31. The black-and-white version of the sunflower is not as successful as the previous post. It seems drab and flat compared to the lively, vivacious color version. Looks like you selected a blue filter. Have you tried others?

    • I’m sorry you don’t like the sunflower as much as the amaryllis from yesterday. I don’t really play that much with filters. I was looking at more the interior of the sunflower and tried to pull out as much detail as I could. I do agree the back cloud are washed out. You have given me some ideas to play with. Thanks 😀 😀
