Travel theme: Outdoors – Wooden Shoe Tulips and Mt Hood

Here is my entry for Travel Theme’s Challenge with the topic of outdoors. I took these photos last night at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm. I hope you ENJOY my selection.

All photos were taken with my Sony e-mount 18-200 lens.

Here is a photo from the podium stand looking across the tulip field. You can see Mt. Hood in the background on the left side. The little white volcano coned mountain. It is our Oregon Highest mountain at 11,250 feet (3,429 m) and about 100 miles away. The last eruption was in 1866. (I’m the shadow on the left on top of the podium.)

Now a different look at the fields. I liked the slight swirly clouds here.

Beautiful!!! I plan to drive up to Oregon to visit this Tulip Farm in April. When will be the best time (best blooming week)??

  The earlier in April the better. The festival runs through May first. I would try and go between April 10-15….they should be prime for viewing. Expect lots of people and walking, but it is worth it. Have fun.
