Six Word Saturday – Goodbye my friend, the Sugar Maple

This post is in response to Debbie’s at Travel With Intent blog Six Word Saturday Challenge. My view has been changed forever.

They took down the huge Sugar Maple across the street. It had too much damage to it from the storm. I took these photos through my window yesterday afternoon.

I’ve gathered a list of challenges and their hosts.  So if you know a challenge host, please direct them to my blog.  Feel free to contact me anytime.  I hope everyone will be able to use my lists.

  1. That’s sad. We lost a wonderful copper beech is similar circumstances a few years ago, and really mourned its loss. But do you know what? The surrounding trees flourished with just a little less competition, and we realised our room was lighter too. I hope you find similar compensations in due course.

  2. Like losing a friend, isn’t it? I watched a favorite tree being cut down once and have never forgotten the grief of the moment.

  3. I have an old maple out my window that I enjoy on a regular basis – yesterday it was very windy and I watched it creak in alarm – I would hate it if it came down – I am so sad for you to lose an old friend like that…

  4. We had sugar maples on our front lawn that were taken down for us by a hurricane many years ago. I still miss them. This is such a shame. Losing any tree is a sad day.
