I’ve got a couple of inanimate objects in flight. But the beauty is more in the surroundings.https://travelwithintent.com/2023/03/23/in-flight-3/

Great challenge. I really wanted to use some of my flying squirrels, but the quality of those photos is so poor, I just couldn’t. Someday, when I have some spare money (hah!) maybe I’ll buy a better quality motion camera and get better pictures of flying squirrels.

I understand. It’s just like I’d like a 18-600 lens for my camera, but I can’t justify the price of it. 😀 😀

I actually bought a separate camera — a Panasonic with a Leica lens — because it was less expensive to buy the camera than the lens! I now have a 12-300 (24-600 sort of), but it took me a very LONG time to buy it and I sold some spare cameras too. But in the end, the resolution of that camera was good, but not good enough. Eventually, I had to get one for the better camera, but at least it gave me the long lens when I needed it and until I could finally buy one.

I’ve done that route too. I sold the camera because it was lousy at long range. The lens I’m looking at would work wonders 😀 😀

From other people who have finally bought big expensive lenses, we had to save money. I put away every few dollars I could for nearly a year and Trent, who has the same lens, did the same thing. I’m glad I got it when I did because now I’m saving money for Garry’s new hearing aids and my new front teeth — and that is going to be a LOT of money. It’s why we never go anywhere or do anything and haven’t had a vacation in five years. Actually, come to think of it, 7 years.
It’s ironic that the glass for the cameras cost more than the camera. That 12-300mm lens cost about the same amount as the camera on which it is mounted — and I bought that second hand from a friend who was upgrading and had barely used it, so it was an incredibly good deal for me. But he’s done with upgrading and I think I’m done buying camera equipment — except for little things — batteries, and filters and such.

Love the humming birds.
Wonderful creation of God!
It’s a tough job to get birds wing without blur!
What’s your experience Cee Neuner?
LikeLike
It depends on the bird. Actually with humming birds in flight I want the blur. Seagulls and raptors, I prefer to get clear wings. 😀 😀
