Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: My Favorite Things, Chorus

020715details_1This is our last week for the song theme.  I hope you all have enjoyed my musical theme. Next week we will be of just some fun topics.

Our song this week finishes My Favorite Things with the Chorus.  So read the lyrics (in italic below) and see what you can come up with for a topic.  Have fun and remember to find a theme within the verse. Most of all I hope you have fun.  This is definitely one where you can add photos of your favorite things.

When the dog bites, When the bee stings, When I’m feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things, And then I don’t feel so bad.

I had a marvelous response from all of you on last week’s theme of Let’s Go Fly A Kite.  Thanks everyone you always amaze and delight me.  I’m proud to announce our featured bloggers from last week’s topic. Their posts really grabbed my attention. Please check out their posts and congratulate them. Maybe you will be chosen next week.

The View Through My Aquamarine Eyes – This entry for was creative, it definitely deserves to be featured.  She didn’t have any kites but found creative ways to match the lyrics.

Little Face Publications – There may not be kites in this photo but there are plenty of your own sets of wings.

Drawing With Light – Wonderful kite photograph.  Doesn’t the entire scene just look inviting.

Brick House – I just adore the jersey cow kites!!

PackYourCamera – A delightful photo of a family flying a kite.

My Guilty Pleasures – A kite of a different sort.  These athletes really have to work hard too.

Conversations Around the Tree – This is how I would be flying a kite, right into the sand.

XingfuMama – I never thought of taking my camera inside a kite shop.  I’ve got to do that this summer.  Plus doesn’t that gentleman look so peaceful flying his kite?

Tybeetabby – A bird in flight.  Such a specular photo and coloring.

My Entry for the Week

Actually maybe this song speaks so much to me because I was bit by my best friends dog, Skipper when I was nine years old.    Okay I will admit I was trying to keep a McDonald’s hamburger away from him and trying to pet him at the same time.  Not a good combination.  I was also attacked by hornets when I was six years old and had well over 50 stings.  My bee photo is posted above.

I adore dogs and am always taking photos of dogs when I can get them.  Here is a photo of a wolfhound.  I adore the lighting on him and the sharp focus on its nose.

This poor little swing reminds me of being alone and sad.

Dahlias are some of my favorite things.

  1. I love your shot of the wolfhound’s face! After your childhood experience with bee stings, I’m surprised you were could get close enough to that bee to get that first photo. That must have been so traumatic.

    • I am still very traumatized by bees. I don’t always get bee photos. I run away a lot. Sunflowers they usually stay on so I know I am safe. I won’t go near lavender because the bees are always buzzing around. Dahlias I’m fairly safe, but they do tend to fly a lot so I will look for flowers without the bees. I think it is safe to say I hate bugs teehee 🙂

  2. Thanks for featuring my post Cee! 😀

I love these pics you’ve chosen this week. The lighting and focus on that wolfhound is perfect, makes it look that much cooler. It would make for a great framed image.

That Dahlia is spectacular, no doubt it’s obvious why you like them. 😉 You know I was maybe 10, not sure but my brothers and I accidentally raked a nest of some ground bees. Oh my was that unpleasant. My little bro started screaming first, I didn’t get it, then I got stung and we all ran to the lake. I had stings all up and down my right side. I used to run every time a bee comes around, I’m a bit better now…a bit. So my sympathy is with you.

    • Don’t even get me around bees. I’m learning on sunflowers, I’m usually safe they don’t care about people. Most other flowers I’m very leary. I snap and run. Which tends to make always make for great photos LOL.

      • I hear ya! Gotta be careful when you stop to smell the roses. It’s more like stop, check, then smell if the coast is clear. 😉

  3. So sorry, I missed the other two …. my favorite things – love the topic, Cee! I would have been very suprised if there hadn’t been a flower in your gallery this week. I’m sure there will be one in my too. Love that wee face.

  4. The photography of this furry friend is wonderful, but the cropping adds the whipped cream and cherry. I have received word that my new computer has arrived (ta-da!) at the home of my friend who will arrive in Mexico in ten days to place it in my awaiting arms! And–I’ll have a place to put and edit pictures and hopefully to reclaim the 10,000 lost in the bowels of Mac-only compatible backup drives. I’ve missed doing your prompts…Judy
